Jeff Henry has spent his entire adult life in and around Yellowstone National Park. Jeff's love of Yellowstone in particular and of the American West in general led him to take a variety of jobs in the park as a way to stay in the place that he loves. At various times since he first arrived to work in Yellowstone in 1977, Jeff has worked in a variety of jobs in park hotels, as well as a tour guide, a fishing guide, snow coach driver, snowmobile guide, wildlife researcher, park ranger, maintenance worker, truck driver, and many more.
Jeff began shooting professional quality photographs in 1982, and for 30 years made his living as a stock photographer. In that role he provided photographs for book publishers, postcard and poster companies, and for virtually every environmental and news magazine. Jeff wrote his first book in 1989, and currently has a library of over 250,000 photos of Yellowstone and the surrounding area.
When not working in Yellowstone, Jeff lives with his daughter Mariah in a log house he constructed with his own hands on the banks of the Yellowstone River in southern Montana. Mountains within Yellowstone Park are in sight of his house. No matter the other responsibilities of his life, Jeff continues to write and photograph the year round.
